Green Transportation

How much do you spend every month on fuel? How many times do you turn down the opportunity to travel somewhere just for fun or to visit family or friends, simply because you cannot afford to pay for the gas to get there? The average family spends about $300-400 or more on gas every month, just to get to work and back, and with steadily rising gas prices, our country has a desperate need for a gasoline alternative. This day and age, we need reliable transportation that is economical and doesn't contribute to the damaging environmental effects of air pollution. We need an eco car that defies and discredits the problem of rising fuel costs, for economical and worry free travel. With that said, there are several things a person can do to reduce or even eliminate the fuel bill, including but not limited to the use of electric cars, fuel cells, biofuels and other clean fuels, car pools, bicycles, bus systems -- or even make your own fuel... and last but definately not least... legs! Is it any wonder why so many people in the US are obese?

Other eco friendly technologies include methane powered cars, turbine engine design, different forms of alternative fuel conversion, hybrid cars (using one or more gasoline alternatives) that can be purchased for fairly reasonable prices, etc. Take the Honda Insight for example. It averages about 61 miles per gallon in the city and up to 70 mpg on the highway, never has to be plugged in and is priced at less than $20,000. Not bad, and considering that payments would be somewhere between $175-300/mo. this (or something similar) may just be the solution for you. Consider for a moment that if you are already paying $300-400/mo in gas alone with the vehicle you have now, what an advantage something like this might be. The average car gets about 20 mpg (or less), which means your fuel costs would go down by as much as 75% or more! So even if a person was to go out and buy a new hybrid car or other similar alternative vehicle, it would basically pay for itself. Some of these alternative vehicles use little if any gasoline at all, such as the air car. And though a hybrid electric vehicle would need to be charged with electricity, a Stirling Generator could be used to power up the car at home prior to travel.
