These days there is a pill for everything and every man-made medicine there is has at least a few negative or even fatal side effects. Also, what used to be termed as a simple ailment that can be cured by natural alternative medicine is now termed as a non-curable disease so as to encourage people to buy drugs (legally of course) and to have to keep buying them for the rest of their lives. It's almost as bad as a dentist handing out candy so people will come back to get their teeth fixed... or a mechanic fixing something on your car that didn't need fixing to begin with... or foods in the grocery store made to addict people to them so as to ensure future sales.
